Go big in Energy Boost

Energy Boost is the Arcade mode where energy comes back twice as fast, then four times as fast after 2 minutes. It's the best place to test and play the expensive cards you can rarely afford in ranked: walkers, tanks, the Millennium Falcon and more. Here's how it works, what you can win and how to build for it.

The short version

  • Energy recovers twice as fast, and four times as fast after 2 minutes.
  • You bring your own deck: the one you selected in the main Deck menu.
  • Card levels are fixed by rarity, so your upgrades don't matter here. Strategy does.
  • A run ends at 5 wins or 2 losses, just like the other Arcade modes.
  • Challenge Battle costs 100 Crystals per run and pays up to 100 cards with a guaranteed Unique. Normal Battle is free.
  • It doesn't touch your rank, so it's the perfect place to try a deck before taking it to ranked.

How to get there

  1. From the main screen, tap Special Modes: Arcade & Single Player.
  2. Tap Energy Boost. It sits with the other Arcade modes, next to Arcade 2 vs 2 and Draft Match 1 vs 1.
  3. Set your deck first. The mode uses the deck selected in your main Deck menu, so switch to your Energy Boost deck before you enter.
  4. Pick Challenge Battle for 100 Crystals or Normal Battle for free, then tap Battle.

Play rules

  1. Energy needed to deploy cards recovers twice as fast. You can drop a card roughly twice as often as in a normal match.
  2. After 2 minutes, energy recovers four times as fast. The late game turns into nonstop deploys, so the match speeds up a lot.
  3. You compete with the deck selected in the main Deck menu.
  4. Card levels are fixed by rarity. Everyone plays at the same level for each rarity: show off your strategy.

Build for Energy Boost

With energy flowing this fast, the cards that are too slow for ranked become the stars. Cheap swarms still matter early, but the late game belongs to big units.

Big Light Side cards to try

  • AT-AP Walker (9 energy), the most expensive card in the game
  • AT-RT Walker (7) and MLC-3 Light Tank (6)
  • Mace Windu (6), Chewbacca (5) and Commander Cody (5)
  • Millennium Falcon (5) and B-Wing Prototype (5)
  • Mortar Turret (5) to hold a lane while you build up

Big Dark Side cards to try

  • AT-DT (8) and AT-ST Walker (7)
  • TX-225 Assault Tank (6) and Imperial Sharpshooter Army (6)
  • Death Squad Leader (5) and Vulture Droid (5)
  • TIE Defender (5) for air pressure
  • B2 Super Battle Droid (5) and Dwarf Spider Droid (5) as sturdy front liners
  1. Raise your average cost. Around 4 to 4.5 works here, where it would be far too slow in ranked.
  2. Survive the first 2 minutes. Keep one or two cheap cards to hold early pushes, because the four times energy kicks in after 2 minutes.
  3. Then flood the board. Once energy is four times as fast, play your biggest units back to back and push one lane hard.
  4. Bring splash. Your opponent is deploying just as fast, so area damage pays off more than usual.
  5. Test before ranked. Use free Normal runs to see how a new big card plays before you build a ranked deck around it.
Build it first. Put your Energy Boost deck together in the deck builder, check the card stats for costs and health, then set it as your selected deck in the game.
