Poe Air Raid

Poe makes airborne support cards cheaper, and this deck carries three of them. Urodel tanks, the Medic heals, BB-8 (Poe's own Unique) steals enemy droids and walkers, and everything else falls from the sky. It's a high-skill deck: every strike has to land. Best in 2v2 with a partner who holds the lane.

The deck

Leader skill. Call Sign Blue: Poe calls in Blue Squadron to deal 3 consecutive air strikes to his location, each strike dealing X% Area of Effect damage.
Leadership. Leader of the Skies: The amount of energy required to use airborne support cards is reduced by X.

Era set bonus: Resistance: 4 of 8 cards, so your units take 8% less damage. X values grow with your leader's level and perks.

How it wins

Let the Urodel and your partner hold, wipe each enemy push with a well-placed strike, and finish turrets with T-70 and Y-Wing.

Strengths

  • Cheap air strikes hit anywhere, including turrets
  • BB-8 turns the enemy's tech units against them
  • Medic keeps Urodel and Poe alive

Weaknesses

  • Few bodies, so fast pushes can overrun you
  • Missed strikes waste a lot of energy
  • Spread-out enemy units blunt area damage

Card by card

CardCostJobHow to use it
2Cheap bodiesYour cheapest standing unit. Use them to slow pushes.
2HealerHeals organic units and leaders. Keep it behind Urodel or Poe.
3Line strikeCheaper with Poe. Strafes a straight line; best on units walking a lane.
3Unique, tech thiefPoe's own Unique. Shocks nearby enemies and hacks enemy tech units into allies; bigger tech takes longer to hack.
4Bomb and knockbackProton bomb with knockback. Breaks up a push or knocks a diver off your leader.
4Tank1,528 health and area damage ahead. Your only real front line.
5Heavy strikeBig area air strike. Save it for a full push or a nearly dead turret.

Game plan

Opening

First minute

  1. Urodel or Troopers first, then wait. Don't throw strikes at single units.
  2. Keep Poe back; he's fragile (913 health).
  3. Watch where the enemy clumps and how they walk the lane.
Mid game

Win the fights

  1. Urodel plus Medic holds the lane. Strikes go on whatever piles onto the Urodel.
  2. Call Sign Blue (3 strikes on Poe's spot) when enemies crowd around him.
  3. BB-8 on their droids, walkers or Sentry Droid: a stolen tank fights for you.
Late game

2x energy and Sudden Death

  1. 2x energy is your time: strike almost every push.
  2. T-70 straight onto a low turret in Sudden Death.
  3. Keep the Medic alive behind Poe.

Matchups

AgainstWhat to do
Swarm decksYour strikes feast. Wait for the swarm to bunch up.
Droid and tank decksBB-8 hacks them. This is where Poe's Unique shines.
Fast diversY-Wing knocks them back; Medic keeps Poe alive.
Other air decksSpread your few units out.

Swaps: T-70 X-Wing to Rebel Troopers if you keep running out of units.

Mistakes to avoid

  1. Using strikes on one or two units.
  2. Running out of bodies. If the lane keeps falling, swap T-70 for Rebel Troopers.
  3. Letting Poe walk into the front line.

Upgrade order

  1. Poe Dameron
  2. X-Wing and T-70 X-Wing (Commons, cheap to level)
  3. Urodel Resistance Fighter
  4. BB-8 and Y-Wing
  5. Resistance Medic and Rebel Troopers
